WATCH | 'Wu-Tang: An American Saga' Trailer to Witness How it All Began

Hulu released the official trailer for their upcoming biopic drama series Wu-Tang: An American Saga. The 10-episode series will highlight the difficult beginnings and subsequent rise to success of hip-hop pioneers, Wu-Tang Clan.
Inspired by the books "The Wu-Tang Manual" and "The Tao of Wu, both written by the group's frontman The RZA, and based on a true story, the series is set in '90's-era New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic and follows the Clan's formation from a group of young black men struggling with the poverty and crime that defined their lives into one of the most successful musical groups in American history. The Wu-Tang Clan, with its unique sound, is hailed as one of the most influential groups in hip-hop history, having released five gold and platinum albums and selling 40 million albums worldwide.
The series stars Shameik Moore (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), Ashton Sanders (Moonlight), Siddiq Saunders (Messiah), Zolee Griggs (Ballers), Erika Alexander (Get Out), and Marcus Callender (Power).
Co-created and written by RZA and Alex Tse (Superfly), the series is executive produced by Tse, RZA, Michael Rosenberg, Francie Calfo, and Brian Grazer, known for his work on musical dramas like 8 Mile and Empire.
The series will premiere on September 4, exclusively on Hulu.
