They're married! Orange is the New Black star, Samira Wiley, wed Laura Morelli, a writer on the show, on Saturday (March 25). According to Martha Stewart Weddings, the couple tied the knot in a colorful confetti-themed outdoor ceremony in Palms Springs officiated by Wiley's parents.The couple, who met while working on Netflix's Orange is the New Black looked radiant on their special day. Both Wiley and Morelli wore custom Christian Siriano as they walked down the aisle to Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It". The brides whose love of Funfetti cake inspired their wedding theme wanted to make their day "feel fun, celebratory, and non-traditional" according to Martha Stewart Weddings.
Beth Helmsestter Events planned and designed the colorful celebration and was able to make the couple's dream a reality. Wiley and Morelli's reception was filled with cheerful color including a patterned dance floor, lights, vibrant floral-and-citrus centerpieces, graphic black-and-white plates, and mismatched glassware. The couple's first dance even featured an explosive blast of confetti.
This is Samira Wiley's first marriage and the second for Laura Morelli. Morelli ended her first marriage in 2014 after realizing that she was gay.
