President Obama Awards Medal of Freedom to Cicely Tyson, Diana Ross, & Others

Barack Obama awarded the Presidental Medal of Freedom for the last time as president. Last Tuesday (November 22) President Obama awarded this prestigious award to 21 deserving recipients, comprised of artists, philanthropists, sports figures, and scientists. Congratulations are in order for Cicely Tyson, Diana Ross, Robert DeNiro, Ellen DeGeneres, and others who received this distinguished award.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the Nation's highest civilian honor, presented to individuals who have made especially meritorious contributions to the security or national interests of the United States, to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavors.
