Angela Bassett joins cast of MARVEL'S 'BLACK PANTHER'
November 28, 2016Marvel's Black Panther adds another star to its star-studded cast. Academy Award-nominated actress Angela Bassett joins the cast of Black Panther. Bassett will play Romonda, T'Challa's mother, a key role in the film. T'Challa aka Black Panther is the prince of the African nation of Wakanda. We met him for the first time In Marvel's Captain America: Civil War and witness the murder of his father. It will be interesting to see how T'Challa, Romonda, and the people of Wakanda deal with the loss of their king and the prince taking over the throne.
Bassett joins Chadwick Boseman (T'Challa/Black Panther), Michael B. Jordan, Andy Serkis, Winston Duke, and Academy Award-winners Lupita Nyong'o and Forest Whitaker, among others in the exceptionally talented cast of Black Panther. The film is being directed by Ryan Coogler (Creed) and is slated to be released in February 2018.
