The official U.S. trailer for the upcoming film Macbeth was released recently by the Weinstein Company.


The film stars Michael Fassbender in the leading role in this movie adaptation of Shakespeare's Scottish play. Marion Cotillard plays his Lady Macbeth.

The story of Macbeth has been retold many times many times on stage and on screen. This version looks like it will be epic. From the trailer, it appears that this film has at least two of the three characteristics that make a movie epic - great actors and stunning visuals. The film already has a head-start  on meeting the third and final characteristic,  an engaging screenplay, with Shakespeare's original play providing much to work with.
