Laverne Cox to Speak at Georgia State University

Laverne Cox, star of Orange Is the New Black and outspoken transgender advocate, is scheduled to speak at Georgia State University as part of their Distinguished Speaker Series. Cox who is the first trans-woman to cover TIME magazine and receive an Emmy nomination.
The 30-year-old actress will speak at GSU's Student Center Ballroom (main campus) on Wednesday, February 4th, at 3:30 p.m. She will be sharing her"empowering message of moving beyond gender expectations to live more authentically".
The event is free and open to the public; priority will be given to fee-paying Georgia State University students.
